
A French printmaker who was very good at conveying moist atmospheres. This scene of cabs waiting on the Quai de l'Hotel Dieu in Paris is quite masterly in its way; the effect is achieved through a combination of etching and drypoint, which creates that slightly fuzzy effect. More on him here:
