Thiemann was born in Karlsbad and studied in Prague, and thus belongs to a Central European tradition in print-making, exemplified in Emil Orlik and Walther Klemm. We have had a few of Orlik's prints here, which are well worth knowing:
Thiemann's prints show obvious influences from Japanese art and art nouveau; they are generally decorative and static. First an early evening landscape.
