Josef Kriehuber, drawing and lithograph of Alexander Dreyschock, 1845

Alexander Dreyschock (1818-1869) was a Bohemian concert pianist who toured Europe in the 1840s and was later court pinaist to the Tsar of Russia. He wrote piano music of his own of a rather Lisztian character, e.g.
Kriehuber made the fine lithograph of him below as a lion of the keyboard in Vienna in 1845, and the drawing above, in my own collection, must have been made at the same time. I am sorry about the wretched quality of the images, particularly of the drawing, which is shown as though through a mist!
