This is a really fine and strong portrait. reminsicent of Munch; better I think than his later portrayal of the composer.

A curious but memorable portrait of the young author, who was in fact an acerbic and rather twisted character, but is shown here posing as an amiable dandy and man about town; less the author of the novels and short stories than the one who achieved swift success with plays in the West End.

Ah that aura of genteel melancholy on a drizzly day in Bath, he has captured it so well! If one is going to a place to die, one might as well do so in tasteful surroundings.
