The engraver Carl Ernst Christoph Hess; a memorable image of a craftsman at work. Ludwig Emil Grimm was the younger brother of the Jakob and Wilhelm, 'the brothers Grimm', and a most appealing artist, notable for his detailed studies from nature, c.f.
Gunda von Savigny, the wife of the great jurist Friedrich Carl von Savigny; she was a sister of Clemens and Bettina Brentano, and granddaughter of Sophie von La Roche. This etching from 1856 is a reworking of the image below, dating to 1809.
